Pre-Consultation Inquiry Process

To ensure a productive consultation, all prospective clients must contact Dr. Richard Alan Miller via email at drram@richardalanmiller.com prior to purchasing a consultation. The email must include the subject line: “Prior Inquiry About Subject Matter for Consultation Before Purchase”.

In the email, please provide a detailed description of the subject matter you wish to discuss, along with any pertinent questions or issues. This enables Dr. Miller to conduct necessary research, prepare thoroughly, and determine whether he can assist with your specific needs.

Dr. Miller or a staff member will review your inquiry and respond, usually within 1–7 business days, to confirm whether he can proceed with the consultation. If approved, you will receive an email authorizing you to purchase the consultation via the designated webpage.

Important: Purchasing a consultation without completing this pre-consultation email process and receiving approval voids any liability on the part of Dr. Miller for the outcome or quality of the consultation, and no refunds will be issued in such cases.

Booking and Session Details

All consultations are conducted via Zoom for your convenience. After receiving approval, you will be directed to a webpage to purchase the 1- or 2-hour consultation. Once payment is confirmed, Dr. Miller or a staff member will contact you (usually within 72 hours) to exchange contact information, confirm session details, and request an itinerary of the topics or questions you wish to address.

Clients are responsible for confirming the correct time zone. Consultations may occasionally extend beyond the scheduled time at no additional cost, at Dr. Miller’s discretion.

Dr. Miller’s staff may be present during the consultation to record, assist with technical issues, or provide general support. Dr. Miller reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel any consultation at any time. If cancelled or modified, you will be contacted (usually within 72 hours) to reschedule or discuss alternatives.

Zoom Requirements

Clients are fully responsible for ensuring their device is compatible with Zoom and that they are proficient in its use. A stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps recommended) and an updated browser are required. Zoom setup and technical issues are the client’s responsibility.

Lateness Policy

If a client is late by 15 minutes or more (failing to log in with fully functioning audio, camera, and settings), Dr. Miller reserves the right to reschedule or proceed with the remaining time. Failure to connect properly results in forfeiture of the session and payment, with no refunds (except in cases of verified internet outages).

Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Purchasing without completing the required pre-consultation email process and receiving approval
  • Client technical issues with Zoom
  • Lateness of 15 minutes or more
  • Failure to attend or client cancellation

Dr. Miller may, at his discretion, offer to reschedule a cancelled consultation. In the event of a verified internet outage on the client’s side, a refund may be considered with supporting evidence, subject to Dr. Miller’s discretion. If Dr. Miller cancels, a reschedule will be arranged instead of a refund.

Disclaimer

By booking a consultation with Dr. Richard Alan Miller, you acknowledge and agree to all of the following:

  • You must complete the pre-consultation email process and receive approval before purchasing.
  • Failure to do so absolves Dr. Miller of any liability and voids refund eligibility.
  • You are responsible for your Zoom setup and punctuality.
  • No Guarantee of Outcomes: The consultation is for informational and advisory purposes only. Dr. Miller and his staff do not guarantee any specific outcome. This is not medical, legal, financial, psychological, or professional advice of any kind.
  • Staff may be present during the consultation.
  • Recording Policy: Sessions may be recorded for internal purposes (notes, quality control, training). By joining the Zoom meeting, you consent to the recording. Recordings will **not** be used for promotional, public, or marketing purposes without your additional explicit written consent. If you do not wish to be recorded, please notify Dr. Miller in advance via email. Clients shall not record the meeting themselves.
  • For privacy requests, please send a clear email to drram@richardalanmiller.com and await confirmation.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dr. Richard Alan Miller’s total liability arising out of or related to this agreement or the consultation shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the client for the specific consultation. In no event shall Dr. Miller be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to this agreement or the consultation services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Josephine County, Oregon. The parties consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

Severability

If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Force Majeure

Dr. Miller shall not be liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond his reasonable control (including acts of God, natural disasters, internet failures, pandemics, etc.). He will make reasonable efforts to reschedule if possible.
