Pre-Consultation Inquiry Process
To ensure a productive consultation, all prospective clients must contact Dr. Richard Alan Miller via email at drram@richardalanmiller.com prior to purchasing a consultation. The email must include the subject line: "Prior Inquiry About Subject Matter for Consultation Before Purchase". In the email, please provide a detailed description of the subject matter you wish to discuss, along with any pertinent questions or issues. This enables Dr. Miller to conduct necessary research, prepare thoroughly, and determine whether he can assist with your specific needs.
Dr. Miller or a staff member will review your inquiry and respond, usually but not limited to, within 1-7 business days to confirm whether he can proceed with the consultation. If Dr. Miller confirms he is prepared to assist, you will receive an email notification authorizing you to proceed with purchasing the consultation via a designated webpage. Important: Purchasing a consultation without completing this pre-consultation email process and receiving approval voids any liability on the part of Dr. Miller for the outcome or quality of the consultation, and no refunds will be issued in such cases.
Booking and Session Details
All consultations are conducted via Zoom telemeeting for your convenience. After receiving approval to proceed with the consultation, you will receive an email from Dr. Miller or a staff member directing you to a webpage to purchase the 1- or 2-hour consultation service. After booking and payment confirmation, Dr. Miller or a staff member will email you, usually but not limited to, within 72 hours to exchange contact information, confirm session details, and request an itinerary for the meeting. The itinerary should outline the topics or questions you wish to address, enabling Dr. Miller to prepare thoroughly. Clients are responsible for confirming the time zone for the scheduled consultation to ensure accurate scheduling.
Consultations may occasionally extend beyond the scheduled time at no additional cost to the client, at Dr. Miller’s discretion. Dr. Miller’s staff may be present during the consultation to record, assist with technical issues, or provide general support as needed by Dr. Miller. Dr. Miller reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel any consultation at any time. If Dr. Miller cancels or modifies a consultation, you will be contacted, usually but not limited to, within 72 hours to arrange a new consultation date and time or to discuss alternative arrangements.
Zoom Requirements
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their electronic device (computer, tablet, mobile, or other device) is compatible with and capable of functioning with Zoom for the consultation. While installing the Zoom application is not mandatory, using a compatible device and ensuring proper functionality (including audio, camera, and all necessary settings) is the client’s responsibility. Clients must become proficient in using Zoom prior to the scheduled meeting. A stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps recommended) and an updated web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) are required for web-based Zoom access. Zoom setup and technical issues are solely the client’s responsibility, and neither Dr. Miller nor his staff can be contacted for assistance with Zoom setup. Lateness Policy: If a client is late to the scheduled Zoom meeting by 15 minutes or more, defined as failing to log in with fully functioning audio, camera, and all necessary settings, Dr. Miller reserves the right to either reschedule the meeting or proceed with the consultation, which will still end at the scheduled time. Dr. Miller may, at his discretion, extend the meeting beyond the scheduled time at no additional cost. Failure to connect or operate Zoom properly during the scheduled session will result in forfeiture of the session and payment, with no refunds issued, except in cases of verified internet outages as outlined in the Refund Policy below.
Refund Policy
Refunds will not be provided for consultations purchased without completing the required pre-consultation email inquiry process and receiving approval, as outlined in the Pre-Consultation Inquiry Process section. No refunds will be issued for failure to connect via Zoom due to client technical issues, including but not limited to incompatible devices, improper Zoom settings, or lack of proficiency with Zoom. No refunds will be issued for client lateness (15 minutes or more), failure to attend the scheduled consultation, or client cancellation prior to the meeting. Dr. Miller may, in good faith, offer to reschedule a consultation for clients who cancel prior to the meeting, at his discretion.
In the event of an internet outage preventing connection, clients must provide verifiable evidence of the outage to be considered for a refund, subject to Dr. Miller’s discretion. If Dr. Miller cancels a consultation, no refunds will be issued; instead, clients will be contacted, usually but not limited to, within 72 hours to reschedule a new consultation date and time.

You are responsible for ensuring your device is compatible with Zoom and that you are proficient in its use. Failure to connect via Zoom or being late by 15 minutes or more forfeits the scheduled time and payment, with no refunds issued, except as outlined in the Refund Policy.
Consultations may extend beyond the scheduled duration at no additional cost, at Dr. Miller’s discretion.
Dr. Miller reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel any consultation at any time, with rescheduling offered as outlined in the Booking and Session Details section.
No Guarantee of Outcomes: Dr. Miller and his staff do not guarantee any specific outcome, result, gain, benefit, or achievement from the consultation. The consultation is provided for informational and advisory purposes only, and clients assume all responsibility for actions taken based on the consultation.
Staff Presence and Privacy: Staff or third parties may be present during the consultation to record or assist, and their privacy must be maintained. Clients are prohibited from violating the privacy of staff or third parties. Clients agree that staff may have access to the meeting and its contents in the course of their work, and no privacy from staff is guaranteed. Dr. Miller and the client may determine their own privacy preferences; however, if the client requests that the meeting or its information remain private, they must send a clear email to drram@richardalanmiller.com, which Dr. Miller must confirm via a reply email.
Recording Policy: By purchasing a consultation, clients agree to be recorded (audio and visually) via Zoom, and such recordings may be used for promotional, public, or any other purpose at the discretion of Dr. Miller or his staff. Clients requesting privacy must send an email as noted above, but this does not exempt them from being recorded via Zoom. Clients shall not record the meeting themselves. Dr. Miller or his staff may, but are not guaranteed to, provide a copy of the recording, which may be edited at their discretion before sharing. Clients may not share any provided recording, in part or whole, without written consent from Dr. Miller and any involved staff.
Confidentiality: Dr. Miller will maintain the confidentiality of consultation discussions, except where required by law to disclose information, unless the client requests privacy via the confirmed email process noted above.
